Well, oatmeal raisin cookies are far superior to oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, but I might have to give it a try.

Yeah, just because I used to live there and grew up in upstate NY (between Utica and Albany) doesn't mean I'm not well aware of it's many, many shortcomings. I've got no burning desire to return their for good, believe me.

Well, that would probably explain why I think everyone else thinks upstate is all of NY except the city. Whenever I met someone from the city and said I was from NY, they would roll their eyes, render judgement that there was no way I was from their beloved boroughs, and proclaim me an "upstater".

Not soft serve at all, but there was this little mom and pop store near where I grew up that was only open in the summer that served homemade ice cream and sold actual penny candy. Maybe not the best ice cream ever, but still pretty damn good, and the fact that it was homemade and cheap made an indelible impression…

The one I go to, they sing but never seem to go overboard with it, and they tend to look embarassed. I feel bad for them. And those poor shmucks who work at Jonny Rockets, or whatever that burger place that makes you sing is called.

This is why the internet is such a wonderful thing - I'm actually thinking of Dreamery Coney Island Waffle Cone. Although the Colbert one sounds remarkable similar and is probably equally as tasty.
