World of Twist.

It's OK
It's not as good as Happiness but not as shit as Palindromes. This is all you need to know.

So….
..it turns out that cancer was the most bobbins of all. RIP.

Any chance..
…someone will give us a fully rounded portrayal of Thomson? We've all seen the loveable left wing libertarian gun nut goof but how about his "darker" side? From all accounts (now whitewashed out of his biography) he was a mean drunk, a wife beater, a racist, a homophobe and all round piece of shit. And if

Thanks AV club!
Thanks for the reminder that, after all these years, I'd still never tire of punching Evan Dando in the face.

Avoid
Before being the beneficiary of a free transfer to the Times Aaronovitch wrote an incredibly unpopular column for the Guardian. Like many of the British left ( see Hitchens.C & Cohen.N, oh fuck it Martin Amis as well) as libidos fell and waist lines broadened in middle age politics veered to the wack job end of

The title
Went to see this with someone who had a working knowledge of the Koran. They seemed to think it was analogous to the life of Mohammed and I haven't read a single review that picked up on this. Any thought?
I'd like to add that this film is truly fucking awesome and if I see anything better this year it'll be

Is it just me?
Is it just me or was the first ad not so much "wolf in sheep's clothing" as "really lame guy with a sheep skin rug crawling around in a field"? And excuse my ignorance but doesn't California need fuck loads of billions in tax revenue to claw its way out of the fiscal shitter?

Watch the whole thing. It' good it just got billed as some big "Event Television" moment and fell a bit short.
The second instalment is the best and possibly stands alone but I'll say again, watch it but it's not as good as some fans think it is and nowhere near as good as the people who made it think it is.

Don't believe the hype
Saw this when it was on TV and it really didn't live up to expectations. I haven't read the books but it was very, very sub Ellroy, as if Peace just tried to lift the LA Quartet and place it oop north.
Its far from being bad but clearly loves itself way too much and a sense of smugness and

2nd best?
"Tom Campesinos explains why he's really okay being second-best…"

I've been listening to this for a week or so now and the remasters are indead excellent. I've heard some bitching on various sites but really can't agree. Bought it from Amazon and I have to say it is actually really good value.

Looking back through my powerful lens of cynicism it does seem to look very similar to what Frank Miller and Alan Moore did nigh on a quarter of a centuary ago. Its almost as if super hero comics haven't had a single new idea since.

I know you're not meant to judge a book by its cover but sometimes you just have to say "fuck it" and sneer.

I got this recently and as far as value for money goes it is impossible to Knock.
