I was really pissed off the other night when I was all high and found out that wasn't some B grade sword and sandals flick.

Remember when people were all excited about the Disney/Netflix deal? That doesn't seem to be much of the case anymore.

Lolla must pay really fucking well to be able to pull off that clause all these years.

It's only one dude and whoever he hires as a touring band, so I guess as long as the checks don't bounce, probably not.

So, when these things come out, I usually go line by line each day to see how far I can make it on each line before I run into a full line of bands I've never heard of. This year was pretty much the same as in years past.

File under "C" for "Cash Grab".

Yep, makes sense.

Series question. Has WB ever approached Dini/Timm etc to do a live action Batman movie?

Is the story true that he'd just recruit locals at every town he passed through to back him for the night? That just sounds insane.

I thought Chuck was going to fucking shank her right there on stage.

The only band I've ever seen in a super small venue before they became the biggest thing on the planet. That band had a crazy trajectory.

When I saw him in the mid 90s, they were covering Willie Dixon, The Byrds, Charlie Rich and The Ventures in sets. That's a pretty diverse mix.

I never took it be dismissive, I always just kind of took it as an observation of a scene or a look that was kind of weird to him and making a song about what it looked like to him.

Great write up. With all due respect to Bo Diddley, Little Richard and Louis Jordan, 1,000 years from now, a music history teacher will sum up the rock and roll era by playing a Chuck Berry guitar riff.

Awesome, thanks for the tips. I've listened to all the Eno stuff from the 70s, except for the Fripp collaboration and that's what I really want to check out. Vangelis was another one from the 70s I dug.

Yeah, I just read the original Cap run last year and there are pages I have to reread because they're Cap and Clint interacting with no masks on and I can't tell who is who.

Anything else coming out today that any of you are looking forward to? I think I'm going to try out the new Erik Wollo record. I'm just kind of dipping my foot into ambient music and he put out a record in the 90s called "Images of Light" that I discovered recently and really enjoyed.

This is the thread where I once again thank Tesla for writing "Love Song", the soundtrack to many an early 90s awkward teen sexual experience.

Yeah, it's hard. I'm just a hair over six months sober. The weirdest thing for me so far has been to mentally realize that I will never have that nice cold beer after mowing the lawn or some cool new porter that my friends rave about. Like, I can still taste those fucking things too, which is kind of maddening, but

"Hatchet" ruled when I was 10. My oldest is 12 and he fucking hates reading. Which is too bad, he's a pretty bright kid, he just would rather not deal with it.
