I'm forever indebted to Togetherness for introducing me to James Blake. One of my absolute favorites now.

…jesus. Well, guess my memory's officially out the window. RIP.

Seacrest was basically just pestering her about all the normal stuff he'd be asking anyone else on the carpet, and she quite clearly had no clue what was going on. It was kinda sad.

…ah. Well, that's simultaneously disappointing and relieving. Didn't Jodie Foster get the honorary majigger like last year, though? Or is my sense of time just totally slipping away from me?

Did anyone else see that hideously awkward Gena Rowlands interview Seacrest did an hour ago? Is she senile or something at this point? I can't wait to hear her speech tonight.

…is it bad that I kinda want this now…

If you're remotely interested in a bizarre fusion of Jethro Tull and Hans Zimmer, I can't advise the Man from U.N.C.L.E. score highly enough. It was my absolute favorite of the year, and that takes a loooot to say.

I'm indebted to him forever for introducing me to Tom Zé. Every song is just purely FUN. And anyone who manages to stick a Louis Prima song in a spy movie is at the top of the game in my books.

I KNOW. Everyone's saying this was an episode full of Oliver getting shafted, but Felicity just got her life absolutely torn apart and gave a waaaay more than reasonable response (especially as compared to pre-reset Felicity), so like… give it a rest, yeesh.

Also on super-duper overlooked: Daniel Pemberton's scores for Steve Jobs/Man from U.N.C.L.E.. Both were incredibly compositionally adventurous, beautifully memorable, and worked absolute wonders integrating with the visuals and temporal location for both of those films.

Felicity wanted to obliterate Olicity so hard that she literally healed herself from paralysis to escape from Oliver. "Strong woman", indeed.

Can't fault you there!

Hold up one hot sec, Spaiths is the GOOD writer of Prometheus. His original script, for Alien: Engineers, doesn't have half of the bullshit that the final edition had, which was added thanks to the writer/lunatic Damon Lindelof, who swooped in last minute to muck up what would have been a fantastic movie. Spaiths is

Kurt Busiek's Astro City can consistently give it a run for its money, albeit as a more scattered kind of storytelling.

Yeesh. That adds a whole new level of uncomfortability into the show.

Wait, is he? He's like 19 in the books, that's really my only reference point.

Memo from the CW: teenagers are dicks.

Nononono because Raven's inevitably going to get shafted again and I'm not sure I can handle that.

Modern Family has become a cast of crazy talented physical performers hampered by a painfully variable writing staff. No matter what, though, the absurdly easy chemistry between the actors and Burrell's glorious pratfalls will keep me coming back for 22 minutes a week as long as they keep this show on the air.
