Metallica can now join
U2, Depeche Mode, Bob Dylan, and probably a few others to do the "Complete Discography on iTunes" boxed set. Not a bad idea, I'm just not sure who these sets are meant for. I mean, anyone who would probably want to own an artist's entire back catalog probably has most of their releases already

I don't think I could list off twenty (or even ten) new releases that I bought this year, since 2008 was more of a "catch-up" year for me, but off the top of my head, some releases that I really enjoyed (in the spirit of yesterday's Popless article, I've recommended a track to check out via iTunes in

Sound Quality?
Can anyone comment on the sound quality of these remasters? Nowadays, reissued albums are a crap-shoot, thanks to the loudness war. There have been a few re-issues that I actually returned and re-bought my original discs because the sound was so bad.
