Yeah, I too shine with the zeal of a recent convert to this show. I even learned about shipping!

I never thought of being angry at Magical Chiropractor Rock, but yeah! Yeah good point! I guess the goal is to show even with the Avatar State (yip yip) making it no contest, Aang remains himself with his moral code intact. But being the Avatar in the post-war reconstruction world, the choices he has to face will only…
All I beg is that someone occasional deconstruct the shipping nicknames. I've always been awful with word jumbles and so I it takes me a disproportionate amount of time to decode "Maiko" I wish that was a joke.
I feel the airbending avatar (whose name I also forgot) gave the winning advice: selfless
duty calls for sacrifice of your own spiritual needs. That is serious, serious stuff that can trigger many late night conversations. I wish they developed that more frankly. Could be the theme of Book Four: Air that they so…
That is a really interesting point. Considering how Koh get's a cameo in the finale where he (presumably) entered the 'real world' to steal the Avatar's wife one could easily come up with a kickass backstory of a war between the spirit & actual world resulting in the permanent separation enforced by the avatar.
To which I maintain that the answer should have been: he had to sacrifice SOMETHING. When the answer was 'No, no he doesn't' I pouted briefly.
There's a difference between 'inconsistent' and 'deus ex machina.' There's no doubt that the energy bending solution is totally CONSISTENT in the Avatar-verse, just in terms of plot it really comes out of nowhere: literally 10 minutes before it is needed. That's what makes it more of a d.e.m. to me.
Yes I realize I’m dusting off an old philosophy major to
discuss a cartoon about child kung-fu masters throwing fireballs. But aren’t we
all retired philosophy majors in a way?
Bless you my child.
Crappy crappy crap crap, how do I watch this without cable? Just start hitting up the illegal download sites and collect viruses like a rent boy? Because I'll do it if that's what it takes!!
Good points all. I shouldn't overstate my dissatisfaction with the finale; a good portion of it was that I wasn't paying attention to my netflix queue and I was fully anticipating a Book Four. Never really recovered from that.
What was the throwaway line?
There is the immortal line where Sakka asked her out on an 'activity' A line I wish I could have used at some point.
*whap* that's how I show affection.
I agree that there's a difference between knifing someone in hand-to-hand and pressing a button to launch a predator drone. In this extended metaphor killing Ozai is hand-to-hand and the Avatar state is more wholesale. But i agree with Murc's core argument that the war against the fire nation involves killing people.…
Agreed on all points.
(polite applause)
What? You're not going to denigrate the Zutara with some ridiculous negative number this time?
I love how he was chewing on a flower too. The attention to detail to getting the details just the right amount of wrong is absolutely brilliant.
It's actually good. There are children's elements to be sure but unquestionably worth your time if any of the following words sound intriguing: kung-fu, elements, Princess Mononoke, character development.
