Agree on the whole, though I don't think Walt's more humble life was necessarily the best thing for him.  I don't think there *is* a best thing for him, unless at some point he genuinely wanted to improve how he looks at himself and approaches the world.

I agree Breaking Bad plays fast and loose with reality as compared to The Wire, but I also think it's got legitimate reasons (and not just, "it'd be awesome to see!" ones) for it.

I think Breaking Bad can be really pulpy… but in the way Dostoevsky could be really pulpy.  He liked spinning melodramatic plots around true-crime details he'd read in sensationalistic newspapers—all so that he could cogently explore why and how people like degrading themselves and/or making others suffer.

To die hating them, that was freedom.

Release…the tiger.

And Time Bandits.  Napoleon cracked me up in that.  "…Don't stand so close to me, Neguy!! …I've told you about that before.  With you on one side and him on the other, it's like being at the bottom OF A BLOODY WELL!"

I saw "Meaning of Life" by accident in fifth grade with my dad.
