A Jack Ryan joke WAS made…very subtly I thought.  During the introduction I felt sure "Jack, Ryan" was intentional, since, you know, he was young and hot back then when he played Jack Ryan.

That was my favorite aspect of it as well.  Although, in hindsight it did sort of add a "none of this really matters though" feeling to it

King used Randall Flagg in several books though—Eyes of the Dragon, The Talisman and at least one other that's not coming to me now.

V/H/S is an anthology (a found footage anthology!  COMBO!) and it's out now.  I also liked most of Trick R Treat, although I still feel bad about giggling at the evil little trick or treater.

Yeah, that's changing though Big Knife—I think he's stuck the landing quite a bit in the last oh, 15 years or so.  Maybe not so much with Under the Dome but the story was the fun there.  11/22/63 had a pretty great ending.

Also, Tommyknockers will (hopefully) forever be the worst Stephen King book EVER.
