I'd love to read that story as well.

Well that's not very Christian of you Kirk…
There is no controversy, just over-zealous fans angry about a joke that pleased most everyone-else.
I agree with most things you say…save for the "regards to releasing box office numbers" thing. This movie was expected to do HUGE numbers this weekend, and everyone knows it, but Warner trumpeting that (as the numbers for movies like this surprise no one, but are released as marketing) as some sort of triumph would…

I saw the 10:40 show Friday night at the theater I typically go to and I think I noticed one more cop car than is usually there—meaning there were two cop cars there. They doubled security!

Zodiac's right—it was pretty well established that if you died in the Matrix your body died too. I figured that they just assumed they were doing people a favor by freeing them from tyranny, even though the movie also showed that some people choose that tyranny over freedom.
What about Yahoo Serious?
Chris Rock had it right—just charge $5000 or so a bullet then it won't be an issue for anyone.
I believe the story now is that he paid to enter, and had everything stashed outside the exit. During the movie he got up and went to the exit and retrieved the guns.

Good point Mesothelonereallytoolongtowriteouthere: people forget those laws were written before guns that were capable of shooting 50 people in less than five minutes existed. Hell, I think shooting two people in that time frame back then would have been difficult…
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that this is also in reference to Fred Willard.

It is unfortunate when big hollywood crowd-pleasers steep so low as to have a moment that pleases the crowd. Boo indeed.
I think they were easily predictable…for anyone that reads the comics (particularly since Talia and Damien are fairly recent developments). Anyone unfamiliar or that doesn't visit comic book message boards was probably pretty shocked at those twists. I purposely avoided about everything I could on comic boards that…

Man, Imsomnia sure gets a bad rap. It's really a pretty good movie, I just think that after Memento was so incredible whatever he did next wouldn't be able to live up to it.
