Yeah—I think Ned actually says to Renly "but he's your older brother."

It's probably a little too soon to tell with Tommen and Myrcella to be fair…Having some young children myself I can personally attest to the fact that they ALL seem crazy.
For me it was more my craving of having to know what's going to happen right-fucking-now than any highbrow "oh I bet the books are simply so much better." I just didnt have the patience to wait 5+ years, simple as that.
I have no earthly idea how that would even be possible…4 & 5 are each as long as 3, and will probably have to be rearranged entirely unless HBO expects people to be okay with 1/2 the cast missing for each…
The comments are spoil-filled from all books. I thought I was safe having read through most of book 4 and still had something spoiled I wished I hadn't.
That was pretty much the order I did things in as well: Watched season 1 in a week about a month after the show finished airing, took a month to get through book 1 (the show was very thorough so there wasn't much "enlightenment" to be had from book 1 aside from making names and people easier to match up) then proceed…
HODOR!
He had the bag around his neck.
He is very bad at estimating is what you're sayin?
King blew through the last Dark Tower books because (after he got into that awful van accident) he was afraid he'd die before he finished them. Personally, I wish he'd waited until he really felt ready, as the last one was the only one of the three I really liked—and Wizard and Glass was far and away my favorite.
I would think (thought it's hard to say for sure) that the costs for that kind of thing would go down by the time they need full-scale stuff. Typically that's what happens with technology, anyway.
Yeah, I'm with Czar. I started the books after I'd watched the first season. I followed it fine, but did not have nearly the idea I do now that I've read them how important some of the characters will be. Also, most of the actors are doing far, far better than I originially thought they were in their roles (Theon…
I too hate it when my book-learnin is all messed up due to the screen version not being as good. This is also why I quit reading things.
Yeah, I thought the division of the books was the biggest mistake of the whole series. Dividing up the characters so that one of your favorites (invariably) is absent for damn near the whole book? That sucked. He should have kept to form and included them all, then worked a natural division into book 4 instead of…
I think to say anyone "is not going to end well" is almost redundant at this point. At least my personal fave Arya still has a chance. I do agree it's inspired casting for Davos.
I so hope you're right…but I can't figure out how either.
Aren't they going to have a Walt problem soon with Brann though? I wonder if they could film some of his parts earlier….
You are the only one. Catelyn zombie was one of the best reveals of any of the books.
No way—not with the Brann/Rickon ending to this year. The Red Wedding and the final reveal of book 3 (to which I actually said "oh shit!" out loud and immediately opened book 4) have to be in the same season.
I've always felt like book five should technically be book 4.5 since it's all basicaly a continuation of book 4 and the characters we didn't get to see in that book but takes place over the same time period (mostly). I think they'll probably combine the two books then split them in the middle somewhere. If they…
