I managed to see them at Gabe's in Iowa City right after they got a great review in Pitchfork (which amounted to nothing, as the crowd that night was about 30). It was, hands down, the best show I've ever seen. I was really taken with this medley they did which included Kylie Minogue's "I Can't Get You Out of My Head"

I will always pick up the newest Islands record, but there's only ever one or two songs per album that I fall in love with. But try as he might, Nick Diamond just can't make songs as good (in terms of pop) as the Unicorns made.

God, I'm an idiot. But with you pointing out my error and the edit button, the joke still works!

How could you have forgotten about Shakira??

Gacy's Mom has got it going on!

You must be reading my dream journal!

Because Feist was so 2008. Your son is just keeping up with the trends.

My predictions:
1. Becomes born again (actually, not even a bet-it is fate)
2. Writes bestselling books about the perils of motherhood
3. Produces some really AWFUL tv shows aimed at tweens (this is when she's in her late 30s/early 40s)
4. Goes through a second, messy divorce-gets on the cover of People cause of it.

That video is awful. Apparently she was watching Jersey Shore, saw how orange everyone was and said, "Give me that!"

He would say, "Ja, das ist richtig!" because he is Austrian.

Maybe it's my tastes talking, but she does wear a TON of makeup. Watch that 'Roar' video; she's practically a Kabuki performer at this point.

They should have called this album "Bangerz" because that's what I would be doing to her tig o bitties.

Forget cleavage, she's going the mature route. Which means…um, sports anthems and even more layers of makeup!

Something tells me that we have a new theme song for Olympics coverage!

My favorite Kristin Hersh song is "Velvet Days"

Oh boy! This will be the greatest wedding between a beard and a closeted superstar since John Travolta got hitched to Kelly Preston! In Touch will have an amazing spread that I'm sure to frame (alongside the cover of People with Clay Aiken announcing "I'm Gay!")

He was much more subdued back then; he kind of just let his carnival barker voice do the acting, but no real histrionics. It's weird to remember a time when Penn Jillette was a constant presence in shows aimed at children.

"Our brains should be less focused on imaginary zombie hordes and more focused on harnessing the tools that we need in order to enhance our lives, whether it be music, education, science or the classics"

Strange but true: Lady Gaga actually wears less makeup than Katy Perry.

You got that right Whovian. I would also throw in the scene where Linnea Quigley humps some old, bearded fat man who makes goofy orgasm sounds. Actually, that might have been Bill Clinton's favorite scene.
