Nice.
Nice.
"Does anyone else feel…there's nothing funnier…[than] so many gay jokes[?]" -AA Dowd
I'm glad I gave IWTT a shot. I'm not into the super detailed trivia "hey, it's that guy!" stuff, so I was afraid it wouldn't be for me. But it's perfect: just the right length, Gourley is a fucking gem, and the guests are really interesting. I give it my highest grade: C+.
"Save it for Later", English Beat
I saw it yesterday here in China. I believe it just came out because my students hadn't heard of it. I had never heard about it, but I just wanted to see something in English. Pleasant surprise.
"[Don DeMillo] is the administrator of all evil for all creation throughout the known and unknown universes in perpetuity!"
It's padded and the structure is unclear, so…A-, I guess?
Sarah Bunting? The Tomato Nation chick? Huh.
Speaking of Blue Turtles, Harris Wittels gave Jerry Ferrara a blow job.
The bit where Scott was quizzing Glass on which of the songs he played where U2 songs is amazing. I resisted this podcast because I'm not that into U2, but I finally gave in and I'm so glad.
I don't have Netflix (I know!), but if you connected to a US server with a VPN, would you get US content?
"Competent[!]"
"Here is the Man with the Tiny Hands." Oh, my God.
I'm getting used to living in China. I love the job, I love the students (when I don't want to strangle them), and I know enough Chinese to order dumplings. And I have a date tonight, I think. I'm not super excited about the guy, but I need to get out and meet people, so I'm going in with an open mind.
If I had cause to change my login name here, I would change it to Mail…Kimp?
That is one charming dude.
Rapping on the Jimmy Fallon? Whatever will they think of next?
I've lived in China for a month now, and any culture that thinks chicken feet are a tasty appetizer needs to fix their culinary shit. There isn't any meat on those things! They did have a spicy glaze that was good, though.
I got to China Saturday. I had a few nights when I cried my eyes out, but I'm slowly adjusting. My wifi isn't letting me access my VPN, so I can't access Gmail, which sucks a lot. And I don't know that many people or know how to read or speak Chinese (so I'm anxious about, say, taking the bus to explore on my own).
