When I moved to Minnesota from Wisconsin, I was surprised that people consider Johnsonville to be the "good" brats. My mom raised me to believe that they are garbage. She gets brats from these meat markets in tiny little towns, and they are to die for.

I started Infinite Jest on Thursday night, and I'm at 22% on Kindle, which is probably just behind where you are. (I hate hot weather and have found it to be a pretty good escape.) I agree that that monologue is a tour de force. I feel like the whole book is challenging ideas I have about how a story should be paced…
