Ryan's liberal use of the fake-out
This has to end soon, it's not really surprising or entertaining when every contestant gets told 'I'm sorry, you're going home…TO TELL YOUR FAMILY YOU'RE STILL GOING TO BE ON AMERICAN IDOL!'

Tonight's "critiques" of Scott
This charade is really on its last legs, the guy is clearly outgunned in this competition and has terrible taste in music to boot. Watching Kara try to find nice things to say about him was downright painful, and they basically let him slide on the atrocious/distracting guitar playing.

I'm already sick of Sylar being a shapeshifter
In theory that was a decent idea to ratchet up the suspense/paranoia in the show, but the writers have amazingly already overused it. It would be nice if there were some restrictions on the power (like if you use it too much your body gets fucked up from changing), but of

I don't have much hope for 'Southland' (looks like a typical "issue"-driven cop show), I think NBC has been holding onto it for a year or more now (and it's on it's third title now, after 'Police' and 'LAPD'). Ryan from 'The OC' was good in 'Junebug' though.

I'm also curious about the decision to put 'Southland' in a timeslot that's not going to exist in a few months. I'd guess they're hoping to build interest by having two solid lead-ins, plus hoping to pick up former 'ER' viewers. But what happens after that?

'Stardust' took a long time to grow on me but now I pretty much associate all of those songs with Willie.

My roommate watched the dubbed version on the DVD and after previously watching the subbed version on there I'm pretty sure the subtitles are just "dubtitles."

It's interesting to think about L4D after reading the bit about Crayon Physics - just because the part about players almost always taking the easy way out rings true for both. Based on my few experiences playing L4D online, most people apparently aren't interested in teamwork - which is a shame since Valve created a

I agree that I'd love to see a guide through these - but at the same time, based on the titles that I'm familiar with there's a reason that WB isn't going mass-market with them. However, there are definitely more than a few worth checking out, although $20 per disc makes them a bit rich for my blood.

This was maybe my favorite throwaway gag of the night, John Krasinski nailed the delivery.

I'm still not sure if we were supposed to feel bad for Michael at the end - David was being patronizing towards him, but considering that 9 times out of 10 Michael would have been happy with the party suggestion is David really being such a jerk? They might keep Michael around for the sales but his bosses know they

SO: TLH actually doesn't have an "ONLY ON XBOX" logo on the cover, so I'm not sure what that means re: it being an "official" exclusive. According to Wikipedia it might make it to PS3, but that's up in the air.

I don't necessarily have a problem with people covering other people's covers on 'Idol,' just that the contestants played fast and loose with it until they started getting caught. Mostly I just hate that when contestants do it they get praise for being "original" just because they Googled a song and downloaded some

Brief Notes
1) Did anyone else notice the total look of panic on Seacrest's face after Michael told that depressing story about his daughter thinking he didn't want to be around her?

I'm just waiting for Up to be released in 3D this summer, I'm really interested to see what Pixar does with the technology. I also think that animated films benefit from 3D way more than live action does.

Yeah, the producers of Coraline must be pretty pissed at Disney right now. I mean, even My Bloody Valentine 3D got more than 2 weeks, and since Monsters Vs. Aliens is about to come out they can't even pop Coraline back into 3D theaters for a few weeks.

"I liked Paula telling her she was also going to be an actress. I can certainly see her getting a crazy cameo or two in MTV movies, but how is it acting if she's just going to show up and be herself? Oh well, can't wait for the last minute of her fame."

Anoop Brown Dogg
I feel weird saying this, but Anoop is the first contestant in the history of this show that has got me actively rooting for him. I think it's mostly because he honestly doesn't seem to care and is clearly having fun - he's a refreshing antidote to the apparent millions of single mothers and oil

The worst part about Tatiana pulling out her accent was that PAULA of all people was the first to call her out on it. I guess much like game recognize game, crazy recognize crazy. At one point this season I felt a little sorry for her because it was obvious she was being egged on to act crazy, but her whole copping of

This week was the first week where I felt like I was on a completely different page than the judges - usually I'm at least able to guess what they'll like, and last night I was totally off the mark.
