And what exactly was that SOMETHING? Every Slovenian arm-locking every U.S. player? Generally known as a penalty kick offense? It's like the Malian ref wanted to one-up the Spanish horror in the morning. Poor Germans, yeah never thought I'd say that.

The best moment of Incredibles is the DVD extra "Jack-Jack Attack."

That asshole ref reportedly (NYT) fucked up the Africa cup finals too.

The show 90% of U.S. is missing right now
USA x 10.
Way to come back from 0-2 and a big fuck you to the ref. It should've been 3-2. While we're at it some more fuck yous to grabby Slovenians as well. Bear-hugging Bradley was a big foul and the offside that wasn't there — gah.

Happy Ending
I missed Iron Maiden at their hairiest, but made up for it recently. Never ever say something snide about seniors. They rocked hard and made me reconsider their newer material. El Dorado is still lame though.

"Pixar is definitely no Studio Ghibli"
Studio Ghibli ain't Studio Ghibli anymore. Ponyo was meh, younger target audience and all. Howl's Moving Castle was boring.
Miyazaki-San is getting a lot of retroactive love. Fully deserved of course.

Up — There are other superior Pixar films, but for me, the long silent scene pushes it above the rest.

Fantasy v Magic Realism
I find Terry Pratchett's comment on Magic Realism quite amusing though I don't agree w/ it completely. It's a good way to laugh at narrow-minded critics. Anyone care to drop their two cents on overlap, differences etc between the two genres?

Citizen,
I'm saying it failed even within its limited scope. It was a pale (no pun intended) imitation of enjoyable Asian B movies that specialized in broad humor, over-the-top drama and dazzling choreography.

While we're at it, screw the "original" too
It just flat out sucks balls. It just Amricanized the martial arts drama w/ bad martial arts and lots of tawdry drama. Any Hong Kong hit from the same period blows that stupid movie out of the water. So let's not act like this remake is a grave sacrilege.

Front I will
I liked the last Zoroster, so if this is supposed to be an improvement, I can't wait to get it.
Finntroll is alright by me. They kick righteous ass live and they do have shades of dark. The typical criticism against them is better directed at Korpiklani.

Rent it now Lone. It's one of his finest movies, a Doyle / WKW masterclass.
3) Chungking Express 2)Happy Together, 1) In the Mood for Love.

Yes, we're comparing two great albums and yes GP is more consistent. If sloppy can be used as a complement, I'd use it for Bandwagonesque. The reason I like it a a bit more. Let's not forget Songs from Northern Britain either. It fits very well w/ the new one.

Something about them and summer. This one's no exception. Really enjoying it.

Bandwagonesque
I never get tired of it.

Thanks all. I forgot Gremlins was one of my favorite movies. Watched House of the Devil last night, meh-ish ending. Awesome build-up though. Geekish detail: Were girls in the 80s afflicted w/ upspeak? Greta Gerwig slipped it in a couple times, though a lot less than her mumblecore movies.

Somebody school me in 80s horror
My virginity in this area should get me killed before I finish this comment. Only seen Evil Dead and the first Chuckie so far. Halloween, Nightmare on Elm St., early Peter Jackson are up next.
Was there a Gateway on this subject I missed?

Dark Tower
I don't keep up w/ Hollywood scuttlebutt, but the proposed trilogy just seems wrong. It would've made interesting 4-5 seasons of TV.

TMFSP, you should totally get into the Motherfucking Wolves in the Motherfucking Throne Room.

ADD fans react in anger.
