Shit be simplistic
I know some fools who say things like "Gaga's confidence is hott." I enjoy showing them St. Vincent's "Laughing With A Mouth Of Blood" video.

Edumacated people callinng it
Eye Rack.

I liked Zombieland except that stupid twinkies scene. The go-to stupidity for sub-Tarantino dickbags. I remember watching a b movie, an f movie really, where the young villain's ransom demand includes double-stuffed Oreaos, zillion dollars etc. Had violent fantasies about that scriptwriter.

Eat Drink Man Woman
Will make you stop eating Chinese takeout. You can hear chef Chu tsk tsking in the background.

Fun fact: Blanc hated carrots, tried substitutes, but nothing could produce that carroty crunch.

Five Guys is not bad, but don't understand all the hype.

I like some of Rushdie's earlier work. Have you read the essay? It is a surprisingly evenhanded assessment of Kipling's work. You won't get any argument from me on the Naipauls. Bonus points to Sir Vidia for pissing off the right kind of people.

Rushdie's essay on Kipling is one of his best nonfiction pieces. It's in Imaginary Homelands I think. Penis, you may want to look up Misra's book linked above. Dalrymple's got a couple good ones on the Mughals. I enjoyed Farrell's empire trilogy, of which Krishnpur was the strongest.

Let me learn you in King's English.
I'm reppin da South. I'm reppin to da dirt. I'm reppin to da grave.

Yes to Drudkh and on a different and (intentionally) funnier tip, Finntroll. See them live.

They're just as gullible to groupthink.
"Animal Collective is the best group of the decade."
"Monique's win makes me feel good as a feminist."
Different groups, same lemmings.

This needs some quip on quip action
As in Cody's commentary track. You may stomach military rations and dhurians, but can you deal w/ this level of rancidness?

They also had a solid Unplugged session.

No, I'll just confuse you more. Liam Finn aka Here Comes Neil Finn's Son has a pretty decent but not great album.
Start w/ the self-titled first one, then move to Woodface. Then work your way through the catalog however you want. Probably Together Alone or Temple of Low Men.

Shake the Sheets
Absolutely nothing wrong w/ crowd-pleasing music. Just saying.
Wasn't a big fan of Living With the Living, except a few songs like Bomb repeat Bomb.
This one, four songs in, is sounding better.

While on the subject, what's w/ all the high fiving on Monique's unshaven legs? It's like congratulating a dude on his hipster dbag facial hair.

He didn't bomb and he kindly explained how Avatar was not even nominated. That was sweet.

Scott Fail?
I respect your work, but that, seriously, was like, just your opinion man.
I hate broadway-ish shit w/ passion, so the Jackman show was a bust. Steve Martin was on fire. His quip on Streep (most losses) was great as was his quick, "I wrote his speech" after the Precious guy's awkward speech. Downey/Fey

Also what's up w/ the new best actor presentations about how the nominee's a wonderful human being? So these are humanitarian awards now? Nice to know Polanski's not going to darken these red carpets again then.

In the dead horse dept: I've defended Avatar as a fun popcorn flick, but as I watched the snippets yesterday, I couldn't imagine watching it again.
And Jeff Bridges — was he really good in the movie or did he get a retroactive one? Either way I'm happy.
