Scare the kids
Those action figures are very realistic looking.

Well, they are hanging out with Charlie Sheen.
Some glad morning when this life is o'er
The first song that entered my head after reading the title of the feature: "I'll Fly Away." Reading the question confirmed my choice.
Probably not?
Does he have a PR rep?
What I've seen of Californication depresses me. Mad Men is quite sad.
To be fair, the series was still a lot of fun when Sepinwall campaigned for it.
Moire taffeta dress
I like this episode a lot, especially after it first aired. I really like Scully in this episode.
Her characterization is another way that this is similar to a Darin Morgan episode. And I like the way Gillian Anderson says "pumper truck" for some unknown reason.
Ketchup fights
I'm on the side of the fence of being disappointed with the series' trajectory. I don't have enough distance from the early seasons (when I was an enthusiastic fan) to feel much nostalgia. I can appreciate what the episode was attempting, though.
I could hear Dam Harmon's voice so clearly during the BNL exchange. That had a distinct season 1 feel.
Damn the uterus!
The women's movement! Always ruining everything!
"Stash" is awful, too
I loathe the word "haul" (in this context).
He's the worst
Hey, Toby, your attempt at humor failed. And your statement isn't even correct. Steve Carrell wasn't a movie star before the show. 40YO was released after the show premiered. Steve was best known for a TV SHOW called The Daily Show.
I was also on the AOL X-Files boards in the mid 90s. I probably crossed paths with you.
What was Scully's interest in Mulder's family?
Good job, AVC.
The best "Best" TV list I've seen so far this list season.
A gift for all humanity:

I don't think Morgan disavowed it for not living up to his vision. He gave credit to Bowman and others for making the episode great. He had problems with the script, not necessarily the end product. This was M & W's last episode of TXF and they had one foot out the door.
Yeah, "Doesn't Somebody Want To Be Wanted." The lyrics are perfect for the episode. Great music throughout. The episode seems to be written around the three songs.
Betty
I love this episode. I like the darker exploration of Scully's character and the relationship between her and Mulder. One of the main reasons the episode works so well is because Gillian Anderson's acting is amazing. She stated that she would have played this episode differently had she known the episode order…
Twenty songs a season while acting, writing, playing and recording on a TV show with budget and time constraints vs a handful of songs collaborating with other musicians for a big Hollywood movie.
