Nah, Phantom Menace was total shit and totally unnecessary to the larger story, but was the best of the prequels.  I think people give it shit because it had the highest expectations.

I 100% agree, but maybe they're just throwing kids a bone.  I don't remember as a kid liking lazy jokes about shitting, but I guess that's what kids love.  Aside from that the show isn't really Saturday morning on Nickelodeon fare. I'd be happy if every such scene was edited out, but I also find them easy to ignore.
