It's not framed as a pseduo-documentary, is it? Obviously it borrows the style but they don't ever acknowledge it the way the Office occasionally does.

They were a big influence on the Beatles.
No way. 5 was bad, but worse than Genesis, Insurrection, and/or Nemesis?
Joseph Kennedy getting rich from bootlegging is an urban legend. Possible an anti-JFK/anti-Irish slur. He was very rich from banking long before the prohibition. The idea that he would risk it all to bootleg liquor is just odd.
Jesus Christ. It's got a good plot and interesting characters and an excellent soundtrack and a lot of interesting stylistic choices and it's well-filmed and Dennis Hopper is the scariest motherfucker you'll ever see. At some point if you have enough of the elements of a good movie, you have a good movie.
And when Tom Cruise played the Nazi in 'Valkyrie'! He's so obviously not German!!! There should be some sort of government commission to make sure people in movies don't play anything other than their true ethnic background. Oh, and also that when there's an international adaptation, the people in the movies have…
I dunnow, some marijuana is accompanied by major time dilation effects. Aside from the security cam video, the whole segment was weirdly similar to the last time I smoked out at a coliseum.
Sorry but that interpretation makes no sense. You are really grasping at straws on that one.
I felt the same way about "Super Size Me."
FWIW the album to listen to is 浮躁, http://en.wikipedia.org/wik…. All her albums from that period are pretty good, her new stuff isn't.
P&R season 4 is not in the same league as season 2 or 3. It's gone from being one of the best comedies ever to being just another sitcom. I wonder if the thrill is gone.
Hello. Fashion changes rapidly and you are talking about people who are deceased. Sir Francis Drake really rocked the frilly collars and leg stocking with leather boots.
That would be too strange a twist for the show. And ahistorical, although the Chicago guy did something similar…
They're not full of drive & personality & verve. A plot situation comes up and they do something about it. I wouldn't say they're terrible, but compelling? Neither of them are Tony Soprano. Also, Jimmy actor is not very good.
Err…for instance I speak Chinese fluently but my first language is English & when I am in China naturally I gravitate towards English and that's expected. But if I had a kid raised in China, even if they spoke totally fluent English, it would be expected that that gravitated towards Chinese TV or at least not have a…
But of course it depends on how bilingual people are…if they're born in the US and totally fluent, like the article is saying…
Terrorist book was pretty good if perhaps too short (no fault of his own), but that jogging book was embarrassing.
With standards like yours, what are you doing on AV Club? Turn on the TV, you will probably fucking love "Kung Fu Panda: Legends Of Awesomeness."
Character sucks but he's a good actor and plus we all liked him in DS9 and the Replacements and maybe Layer Cake.
Whoever wrote this schlock should be hunted down and fucking strung up from a pole. Cool setting, lots of money involved in production, Colm Meaney is awesome, but they're all talking in cliches and 21st century attitudes and obvious authorial viewpoints. There are video games with better storylines than this.
