I get the overwhelming self-seriousness. The characters acting conveniently stupid to propel tragic consequences. The redundant gangland double crosses. The hamfisted dove thing was awful. I've been increasingly critical of this show to the point where I have friends asking me to stop poo-pooing on it for them.

Nothing's wrong with it.  My entire issue was with your weird implication that this was a simple moral choice.  If you're being honest about the financial ramifications, there's no issue here.

"Whatever the financial cost"?  Had it occurred to you that not upsetting advertisers figured into the decision making here or are you that deluded to believe that trillion dollar corporations and their ad people are always acting in the interest of benevolent moral good?

If your review was taking a thematic/structural angle, you'd have not heard a peep from me. But reread what you wrote here. Your review is a good metaphor for the MiB/Jacob backstory. I went in not really knowing what you could possibly liked about this episode and you don't really support yourself in your review.

I know you've actually admitted that you don't review these episodes objectively, rendering this whole column a notch above fan gushing but giving this an A- is truly a joke. This episode had a handful of good moments in a mass of poor acting, mundane "mommy issues" drama. It kind of brings me back to another work
