That's exactly what I was thinking about - and, to a lesser extent, Gladiator. Haven't seen the directors cut of Kingdom of Heaven, but if it's "Duelist"-esque, I'll give it a go.

Aliens is awesome, Blade Runner is fascinating but flawed, but THIS movie is the reason Ridley gets a pass when he announces a new project. No matter how crap it sounds, somewhere, deep in there, is the guy who made Duelists - he can't be lost forever, can he?

Though he doesn't "sing" much on the Monsters Inc song - I assume he was in character as a huge, furry monster. (Typecast again)
