"bog-standard" - haven't heard that in forever. Must start using it again. But do you abbreviate? Or is that pretentious?

But he only avenged the death out of personal revenge, for the attempt on his own life. He had a chance to be the hero, but he took the money and kept his mouth shut. When he goes after Tilda Swinton's character, it's because she tried to kill him - the moral stance is convenient but not the main motivation. As he…
Does he? Interesting. I heard him say that the key was the zoom into her eye at the start, as she's dying - everything after that is fantasy.
Michael Clayton: a bad dude (who thinks he's a good dude) does a good thing for bad reasons. Then rides around Manhattan in a cab because he knows when he get's out, it's all going to land on him. The End.
Also: pretty much all Woody Allen movies. At least, the good ones.
And if you believe that the "myth" is just a dying girls fantasy, then both are totally bleak. (ps del Toro has hinted that the "myth" IS just a dying girls fantasy)
"toned down" doesn't even begin to describe the Attenborough ending…
The "happy" ending to the 40's movie is hilariously bad - no, really, if you've read the book, you'll laugh your ass off. (Though Attenborough is very, very good.)
hell yeah.
Todd, very impressed that you could do that entire interview without mentioning Mad Men. Or was that a condition that the publicists insisted on? I can imagine that Mad Men questions would get boring after awhile, but c'mon - this is almost a spin-off.
Watched it last night. Pegg is awesome but the movie is ok. I love Azaria but he felt mis-cast - the part feels like it was written for David Schwimmer. Who, coincidently…
Also: anyone shocked at how ripped Azaria was in that movie? I mean, if I was going to take my shirt off in a movie, I'd get in shape, but Azaria's…
Except 400 Blows wasn't about a sociopath. Small detail.
oh man: "Love's in Need of Love Today" - that song gets me everytime. Did you see him sing it at the 9/11 tribute? (Not the concert, the tv special, that Clooney did). I bawled like a child.
on yer feet…
Is Rightful Heir the episode where Picard goes to Worf's quarters and tears a strip off him for laying in bed? Love that bit.
Also: the pop-eyed Klingon was in the ST video board game - great fun: he randomly screams at the players. You had to be there.
"… at least once, for "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," too."
Walking with Dragons
Hate to be a downer, but that just looks like the T-Rex form Walking with Dinosaurs with some feathers glued to his head. Which is a disappointing (because Walking with Dinosaurs was fantastic) but I guess a dragon really is just a dinosaur with feathers.
Sorry, but meh.
it really is… everywhere…
Sorry to go off topic, but why is there a backwards CityTv logo on the 30 Rock clip? Is the whole video flipped? And is the AV Club is stealing Canadian cable?
You want a reaction from the Lebowski fans so much, you posted twice. That's pretty hardcore.
And he's first, last and always Dan Connor.
Tardis Revisited
Davidson is one of my favourite Doctors, and I really liked his crew (the smartypants redhead was fun and I had a total Tegan crush - perhaps it was the uniform…) but you're correct - there where some awful stories on his run. As for his look, I'd assumed it was a cash-in on the Brideshead Revisited…
ah, sorry Zack: I feel like a doofus for bringing it up, I was justing trying to point it out in a non-doofus fashion.
DoofusFail, I suppose.
hate to be the obnoxious poster, Zack…
…but in the second last paragraph, fourth line "(At one people,") I think you mean "(At one point,")
