Granted, the last time I really used one on a regular basis was the iMac era, so I'm not super well-informed. My dad recently got a Mac Mini, and it seems fine. Just not Earth-shatteringly awesome, is all.

Honestly, it's an emotional reaction. The marketing and the way the company has positioned itself in the zeitgeist (as well as how its fans have positioned it) are factors. I've honestly never gotten the obsession with Apple. Back in the day my buddy got a Mac Classic and about shit himself. Been puzzled ever since. I've used Macs at work before, and the only difference I could tell was that the menus were in different places.

I'd feel a lot of admiration if she went out doing too much coke instead of from being 101. I may not AGREE with the decision, but I'd admire the hell out of it.
