Totally. The thing I love about the manga was it was uncut and obviously had no filler. Plus I got into it after getting into DBZ, so some parts obviously dragged (but not as much as Goku powering up on Namek)

There was this comic shop near my house that used to sell the single issues of both Dragonball and Dragonball Z (back in the late 90s/early 2000s). The manga was awesome but I could never get into the DB (non-Z) anime.
