Way too predictable, that one was.  As soon as they let the Iraqi(?) soldier go, I said to my friend (who had seen it and thought it was amahzing), "Okay, they have to kill that guy."  As soon as they didn't, that pic was pretty much over for me.

The first "gunpowder to cauterize the wound" I ever saw was in "Butch and Sundance: The Early Days (1979).  William Kat talked Tom Berenger through it.

freedompop FTW

Even before the more-slickly produced SCTV, the group had a half-hour show that aired in the Britcom slot on our local PBS station (KERA - woot).  It was called Second City Television, and I remember it started with a VO that said "Second City Television is ON THE AIR" and someone threw a tv out a window.  This was

I cut my Yes teeth on "Yessongs," the triple live album with all the classic tunes fleshed out and recorded surprisingly well fopr the era.

Try that joke again when Trevor Rabin dies.

The live "America" from the mid 90's has been my favorite Yes recording for some time now.

He was right about the orchestral arrangments.  The first album is better (i.e. more enjoyable) than Time and a Word, though the original songs on the latter are stronger represenations of what Yes, and Prog, would later become.

Yeah, Calvin with combed, parted hair wearing Dad's glasses kills me, too.
That one graced my refrigerator for many years.

Calvin, go do something you hate! Being miserable builds character!

Milk Plus, my little droogies.

I'll take the new girl, Heather Graham.

I reissue this line every time the subject of this movie comes up:

Don't forget 9012Live!

Is that the character from All in the Family?  Becuse for me, he's Stretch and the practical-joking buddy of B.J. Cunningham.

What would T. Herman Zweibel do?

Still no mention? Still?  When will the AVC get hip to the greatness that is Larry Gelbart?

I'm lucky I first saw it as an adult, because, yeah, making Big Bird leave the Street is so wrong.  But damn if there isn't some funny stuff in there!
Oceanview, Idaho?  Still funny.  When Grover reminds Big, "Don't forget to breathe!  In AND out!"
But my kids didn't see it till they were older.

Henson and Hartman are the biggest tragedies, but more than making me sad, they make me mad.  A comedy legend, on his way to comedy sainthood (or beyond), gets senselessly wasted by some coked-out freak.  And the beautiful genius of the most creative kind soul is lost to something so treatable.  Grrrr.
That clip of his

According to Abagnale, Garner's character was supposedly Cheryl Tiegs.
