I wholeheartedly agree (and his website is no better, 2 years down the line).

I was about to say how opinion of Hicks seems to get worse every year, but then I remembered his obituary in a British music paper, written by a just-starting-out Eddie Izzard, and he was fairly critical of him then too (while acknowledging his extraordinary talent).
I slipped in and posted some aggronerd point-missing before she locked the thread. I always like it when I read someone talk about "narratives" because it means I can pretty much stop paying attention there as it's about to drift off on a cloud of post-modernist point-obfuscating nonsense.
Livetweeting = talking over a show as it's going on, but no-one else is in the room.
I'm as big a Young Ones fan as you'll see and I didn't make the connection either. It's way too common a sentence construction for that.
If I wanted to read your blog, then…ah, I don't know. Just imagine I'm saying one of the other insults you've got for whoring it out in a bunch of different TV reviews.
He and Enver Gjokaj from Dollhouse should do a show where they're a private-eye duo, or something.
Nah, Anna Faris is great. I just pretend those shitty movies of hers don't exist.
They made a reference to "Valentines and then the weekend". Did they just not bother checking what day it was this year?
I'd throw Elegant Victorian Lady in there too.
I certainly remember that film only being a selection of shots of a partly clothed or nude Dana Delaney. It was pretty good.
Agreed on Kevin Smith. Clerks blew my mind, and I became obsessed with it. Mallrats I watched and was "why is he doing a shit version of an 80s teen film?" and besides some laughs at …Strike Back's more puerile moments, I've hated everything he's done since.
In mt mid-30s with a job I enjoy and no wife or child, I still think Hicks is brilliant.
It's not so much that we've changed, then, but it has?
Also, going to Amazon, the "buy this together with this other thing for a reduced rate" offer is for Tommy Wiseau's "The Room". Now there's a fine double-bill.
You big bad internet commenter you!
PFFR dolls
I have one of the 13 PFFR dolls (well, they may have made another run after they sold all that lot). 5 of 13…but not the second, sadly.
You're right! Why should people comment on a comment section?
I didn't rip my idea off the IMDB trivia page, but it's not the most original observation I've ever had, I'll admit. Ben Affleck should have asked that question a bit more often though.
Observe and Report's my favourite film of his, I think. Partly because it was nothing like I expected? Don't know, but I did really get into it. He, Jonah Hill and Cera should stop getting hired by him so often, though.
