I also think Kid A is the album of the decade. And it's not ludicrous to compare them to the Beatles, I think. It's way more boring to read "Beatles are the best thing and that's it, no more discussion" than it is to hear how amazing Radiohead are (and you're also far more likely to read the former than the latter).

I like the explanation that Cameron wanted sex with no commitment, but realised it was impossible (she did marry Chase, after all), so that was why she was lecturing the porn star.

I'm not sure why Foreman is the one guaranteed member of the cast. Since he's just become House 2, he's essentially irrelevant as a character.

Christopher Walken would be an awesome replacement House. Awesome!

Taub rules! I'm glad he's back. I keep hoping they're going to groom him for his own show when Hugh Laurie gets bored of doing it.

Thanks for reminding me of Tritter. No matter how bad this gets (and I pegged the "is this about me and Lucas?" as maybe the worst line this show has ever come up with before reading this review - thank heavens people agree with me) it still won't get as bad as that. There were whole episodes where I ended up playing

Why are there no British standups on this? Daniel Kitson is the funniest comedian in the world (and has played New York, so you've got no excuse), Stewart Lee the same, Richard Herring, Simon Munnery, and so on and so forth.

It was an extraordinarily rich and successful man moaning about the pressures of being rich and successful. I absolutely disagree that it's anything other than typical Gervais behaviour…incredible insecurity over bad reviews.

Rabin's post:

No it isn't. Series 2-9 are the truly great series, obviously. I think any serious book like this which actually admits that has worth.

I like that they're changing the show, the characters and how they stack up in relation to each other. If all TPTB do is keep things like they were in season 1, people would be moaning x 100.

If Taub isn't done altogether, he's been extraordinarily quiet since his let-down of an exit from the show earlier this season.

I thought this was a return to form. Shows how much I know. The PI was my favourite of all the semi-recurring characters, and I hope they have the balls to stick with him as the antagonist who can hold his own in the verbal sparring with House. It's a good step, I think. Oh, and if the House sites are to be believed

Rollen, Eastbound and Down was going to be the point I made. If they're including shows which started this year, then they shouldn't really be including shows which barely made it past 1999 (Freaks and Geeks only made it into this decade from episode 7 on, and was cancelled after episode 12).

Best episode of the series so far, I think, and the best one overall for some time.

A few good lines, but on the whole a very sub-average episode. I'm sort of surprised anyone would have rated it A-, but it takes all sorts I suppose. Characters behaving way out of character, when they've spent so long building it up, is a bad thing.

Invasion was awful. Entire episodes where nothing happened - it was painfully obvious they were anticipating a second season so just didn't bother using all the plot they'd dreamt up.

I think he left because he realised how god-awful the stuff he'd done for season 3 was. There was maybe half a show's worth of decent material in the 3 episodes they ended up airing.
