Ken Jeong gets a lot of shit from the 'sophisticates' at the AV Club, but if you transcribed his lines onto a piece of paper and compared them to his performance, you'd realize how much comedy he is able to mine out of the simplest dialogue.

I would be totally fine if Community was simply a snarkier, snappier, more sarcastic version of a John Hughes movie 90% of the time.

Totally agree. I think fans give the S4 writers too hard of a time. Like it our not they were working with the roadmap/pieces that Dan Harmon left behind — episodic adventures further and further away from campus, a relationship between Britta and Troy, Chang essentially a fugitive on the run (like it or not, he's

You know exactly what I mean then.

Well, I was also in my high school's theatre department and extremely earnest and mediocre community theatre, so I know a cloying attention-craving drama-student diva when I see one!

It really felt like he (and the writers) where just going through the motions, and repeating jokes and gags for Troy from previous seasons — with the exception of the Body Swap episode, where the entire cast seemed more engaged.

I remember someone on this board mentioning—based on her appearances on talk shows — that she behaves like your stereotypical 'dia' or your high school theatre department.

"Did you know you have the heart of a hero?"

I 100% agree that the visual commitment to the homage actually undercut the significance of Pierce's death, and the return of Duncan and Starburns.

Let's just say the chemistry between Jeff and Britta still felt natural during season 4, and made me nostalgic for season 1 and 2. But Annie essentially started becoming Jeff's cheerleader in season 3 and it really felt forced and unnatural in season 4.

I thought he said MugScroll … right? Because British people have 'mugs,' not faces?

Yes. The more I think about it, I think the only episode I liked less was the Season 4 finale.

No. Then it would be an homage to an homage. Which would be horrible.

Britta and Jeff bust each other's chops and really challenge each other's views (and weaknesses).

After reading the comments, I suppose a big reason this episode didn't work for me is that I haven't watched Hannibal, The Killing, Zodiac, etc. Not the right kind of nerd, I guess.

Ditto. The only thing that really made this episode stand out to me was Abed basically saying, "Fuck this shit."

I suppose I 'get' the episode but I didn't enjoy it. I hardly laughed. There was something about the timing, pacing and performances that just felt off. The Starburns reveal felt underwhelming. The sudden news of Pierce's death and how it was handled felt forced. And the episode overall felt like it was leaning far

I actually think the whole cast might have been directed to pull back a bit and try to fin their characters again. By the end of season 4 the whole cast had degenerated to mugging through all their lines.

Starburns wanted to start a meth lab with the Biology teacher, Professor Kane. referencing Breaking Bad. He used a meth lab/van explosion to fake his death.

Seriously guys — do you think about Community? Like, days after you see an episode for a first time? Or am I insane?
