Never apologize for pedantry. They were asking for it!

Really skillful painters of miniatures (as used in wargaming or role-playing gaming) use a similar effect for giving a realistic sheen to hair. It's interesting that there I find it still looks like shiny hair even when I've seen a step-by-step demonstration of the painting.

I was guessing "nuru massage". Of which I'm told there's a whole genre of videos, which I've of course never actually seen…

Despite what its title implies, the Witchcraft Act of 1735 actually criminalized claims of witchcraft and supernatural powers, and was intended to stamp out belief in witchcraft rather than any supernatural activity.

And once again, only a giant meteor can save us.

Between him and Aunt Gail's habit of adopting cats that she finds "just sitting there… on someone's porch", the town's crime statistics must be through the roof!

You're right that In The Mouth Of Madness's Sutter Cane isn't a criminal. I was just citing that as another example of the "violent psycho fanbase" conceit. I guess in the real world we have something close in the allegations made against the fans of some rappers, or Juggalos, or Death Metal fans. But all of those are

The idea of a witness against a serial killer being put into Witness Protection is a bit odd — Generally that's reserved for witnesses against organized crime defendants. If implicit in that is the idea that this serial killer's "fans" represent a big and organized enough group in the world of the movie to merit such

The cherry on top of that whole scene being that Boddicker turns on his windshield wipers after the impact. Which, of course, is no help at all…

I'd vote for the slug…

Disqus flags that? How the hell are we supposed to discuss British comfort foods or bundles of kindling?

There's also that brief bit with one of the "reject" Robocops that pulls its own head off. that was pretty squicky.

Dawson makes the movie. Maybe the young whippersnappers today don't "get" his performance because they naturally think of Steve Harvey as the host of Family Feud.

I doubt The Princess Bride would be classed as "action", whatever its merits (I wouldn't go so far as Briehan, who it seems might class Robocop as better across all genres). Predator is debatable, but I'd give Robocop a near edge for its satirical humor, as well as its great "punchline":

And win a trophy from the Predators' prize closet…

As an Archer fan, I would point out that Aisha Tyler can be plenty shouty.

he guns down bystanders, steals fast cars, and blasts ’80s metal in inappropriate public spots

I think Briehan and I would agree that Robocop was the best movie of '87, but clearly Lethal Weapon was more influential, and thus appropriate to the theme of this series.

Yeah, poor Neil probably wouldn't even be an Archbishop.

I really have to wonder if the current "scary clown" panic might have been begun with some sort of guerilla marketing for this.
