C- feels about right for most of Palahniuk's recent work, sad to say. I've just learned to ignore most of what he puts out these days.

Sutter's delusions of greatness, coupled with his general asshole-ishness, definitely made dropping this show very, very easy.

Agreed, Simon's reaction to Melanie also seemed positive to me.

God help me, but I enjoyed the Kidz Bop version of The Ting Tings' "That's Not My Name", even though it's hard for me to picture a group of 10 tweens being the next big thing in music. Other than that, Tiger Budbill was pretty great, and I like Brennin a lot even though I may be blinded by hotness.

I think Anthony Ryan is the love child of Aaron Paul and Justin Theroux.

Actually, I'm pretty sure we all just hate Josh. There is no "love to hate" happening here.

Weird, I don't find Daniel V hot at all. A face only a mother could love.

This is a very entertaining show when you watch it DVR'd the next day. I can zip right past the audition clips I've already seen, as well as the weepy backstories, and get right to the performances. And oh, the performances! Some were quite good (especially Stacy Francis), and others were just hilariously off-kilter,

Brave and the Bold, The Soup, and Fringe for me.

Now where's the "lone wolf" who can steal the nude pics of MALE celebrities? Some of us would like that sort of thing.

Exactly, there was nothing indicating that it was a promotion of any sort, it was just integrated into the show seamlessly like it ain't no thang. Thank god I'm not the only one who saw it. I was starting to question my sanity!

I'm worried that because these recaps are lucky to get 5 comments they're going to go away, but that better not happen because they're hilarious and awesome. Great job, Emily.

Why is there not a single mention of the completely random Beavis and Butthead cameo in this episode? Did I imagine it? Vinny called someone up, and MTV edited in Beavis and Butthead on the other line for like 2 minutes straight. I suddenly fell into some bizarro remake of Space Jam or Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, where

Every negative review of this show makes it sound like the best thing I'll ever see on television. Seriously, in a season where shows that should be campy and batshit crazy don't have the balls to deliver (see: Ringer, Revenge, etc), American Horror Story sounds fantastic. This show is going to have a passionate,

This is a very important news story.

Alright, which AV Club commenter is this Jack Black character based on?

Emily, I just have to give you major kudos for these recaps, which are really hilarious and fun even if no one is commenting on them. I'm actually enjoying the show quite a bit so far, is that wrong? I'm immune to feeling bad for mentally ill auditioners, and instead I enjoy laughing at them just like the producers

Carrie, I love your Vampire Diaries reviews to pieces, so I'll just assume you go temporarily insane every Wednesday when you have to review Revenge. This is not a good show, and when Emily VanCamp and Madeline Stowe aren't on screen it all becomes dreadfully dull. I like the idea of pulling off a revenge per week,

I really enjoyed it as well, and Noel is being far too harsh. While I definitely wouldn't compare it to the brilliance of Shaun, it's a hell of a lot of fun and worthy of a B+ at least. Stop being a killjoy, Noel!

Funny you mentioned the dialogue in the first four episodes, because episode 5 is where I thought it calmed down, stopped trying so hard, and became much more tolerable. Episode 4 was especially painful with the wannabe-Cody vibe.
