Yes. This week's IGN review, when I first read it, seemed to indicate that the episode was really dull. Then I saw the grade, which didn't surprise me, since even season 6 was overrated there. Their reviews of Dexter are more based on feelings than constructive criticism, I think. Whereas Joshua Alston analyzes how…
Someone should make a list of Dexter's plotholes throughout the whole show. First one: Dexter still isn't caught even if he's kidnapped and killed people in broad daylight (like at the airport, or at the gun stand. God that was "mighty stupid").
I think Saxon is related to Ryan Gosling. A clone, maybe?
You should buy it. It helps cope with the BS.
Another show entirely, exactly. That's cliche to say, but everything has changed. The cinematography lost its dark, "grey" touch and is, well, bad. The writing is… ok let's not go there; and the actors are playing something that remotely looks like the characters at the beginning (Dexter used to be a fast thinker who…
You're right. I feel like Dexter is extremely overrated nearly everywhere else (have you seen that piece in Rolling Stone where they say Dexter is "still fresh" or something?) and the AVC is the only place where we can laugh at the show for what it is. I used to comment here because it was quite good earlier in season…
I think the writers are actually satisfied. That's terrible. Plus, they've been asked to "leave the stage" for 4 years, so perhaps they're deaf, too?
This is fucking hilarious: http://i.minus.com/i5RYOCS7…
I hereby present you… The greatest joke ever, as told by executive producer Sara Colleton!
The worst thing is David Nevins said earlier this year that "Dexter still had interesting stories to tell". It's like he's stuck in 2007.
Poor, poor MCH. I'm pretty sure he's aware of the horrid quality of this season, and it was impossible for him to get out. I feel sad for him having to say all those terrible dumb lines and betraying the original Dexter episode after episode.
I feel like you really get the show. More of your thoughts in the comments would be nice in the future.
I like Scott Reynolds's podcasts; they have a particular energy. But it's like he's writing another show entirely when he talks about it.
Psycho nanny !
If Deb dies in the finale, I'd want the grade to be "F" for Fuck, as an homage.
This should be the actual dialogue. Why be all serious and boring when it could embrace the parody?
That'd be fun. I gave my first F this week, before it was all C- and D.
Lem was there, so that's cool.
Funny thing: Walt refuses to "send Hank to Belize" but threatens to frame him for something he didn't do and never would do. He'd rather he rot in jail unfairly than murder him.
