I'm a fan but like Ryan Adams, there's SO MUCH material he puts out that I got lost a long time ago. As far as I know there's no "best of", right?

Maybe you remembered John Carter because you were featured on one page of issue #3 of Marvel's "John Carter, Warlord of Mars" published in 1977. You were shilling for Hostess Twinkies. Sell out!

I like that casting. I go with Javier Bardem (an actual Spaniard) or Gael Garcia Bernal (hey, at least Latin) and either Jack Black or Zach Galifianakis.

Tight Walker's art reminds me a lot of Mark Buckingham's. This is a good thing. I haven't loved any Hopeless books yet (all been fine), but will check it out for the art.

How soon until Kanye complains that Beyonce was robbed?

"no one should get too excited about seeing me in this film."
Maybe she plays the voice of a CGI character? Say… Eternity!

Leno.

Supergirl was fun this week. Less silly getting coffee for Cat Grant and more confidence. Oh and a charming Superman (with distracting eyebrows.)

My issue with making the Inhumans so similar to mutants is the same issue I have with mutants in the Marvel comics universe. If you get your powers by accident (say radiation) you can be a beloved hero, but if you're born with the powers and they manifest at puberty (a mutant) you're a hated freak who should be

Yeah, it's how I feel about foreign films sometimes. Of course French films or Spanish films seem better than ours, but that's because only the better stuff gets shown in the USA. 75% is probably junk just like our homegrown films but we'll never see it.

We gave out teachers something: sass.

"Watch Pop Culture Portmanteau eviscerate trope"

So, fellow comic fans, what are the better (or best) Wonder Woman comic runs? I really only know the early George Perez post-Crisis stuff. What am I missing?

Time Tunnel was okay, but I was a giant "Voyagers!" fan. No idea if it holds up but it was so fun as a kid. And it even told you to go to your local library at the end of each episode to learn more about that week's subject. A library! Quaint, right?

Whew! Now I can go back and read the first 17 weeks without being nervous for you the whole time.

Nah, "Who's Next" is the champ. Although "Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy" is the best title (and a pretty amazing compilation.)

My first time reading this feature, but is the author at least burning the albums to his computer library before getting rid of them? Seems odd to me not to do so, as Apple, Amazon and/or Spotify could always lose the streaming rights of that old album you want to listen to.

Big fan of "I'll Fight" as well.

Oops! I'm a dope. I guess I was looking at the "consider the variety of works it drew on for its tone" — and surprised "M*A*S*H" wasn't there. But the article totally mentions it!

No mention of "M*A*S*H"? That seems the biggest influence on the show with its use of comedy/drama and sometimes overly sensitive lead character (and the book"House of God", too, was another big influence supposedly.)
