Alanis is hot? Ewww. That bitch is canadugly. We don't even have that type of ugly in America.

I was just in the bathroom
freeing some negroes. Sorry for the smell.

Drenese Democracy
seems a better title to me.

The word that best describes 90's WHFS for me is LAZY. After the HFS people had helped popularize all these quirky rock underdogs they apparently decided they couldn't be bothered to search for the next generation of quirky underdogs. They kept playing the same old stuff even though it had become mainstream

I also grew in Northern Virginia in the 80's, and in my opinion WHFS deserved to die. All the cool college/indie rock that they had promoted for so long suddenly became mainstream, and they stupidly went along for the ride. The dumbfucks didn't try hard enough to dig deeper. They let themselves become a watery

Primus? Are you sure? The idea of using slap bass in rock music hasn't aged well, to put it mildly.

Ah, People's Drug. I still have a potato-chip bag clip with a PD logo on it.

Pearl Jam should have quit before they started. People say commercial mediocrity crept into Alternative Nation over the course of a few years, but I think it was there right from the get go - in the form of Pearl Jam.

OMG, somebody mentioned Lubricated Goat! I thought I was their last fan in the world.

Robyn's indie cred is fucking bizarre. Only thing I can figure is her music is fluffy commercial dance pop for hipsters who are embarrassed about liking fluffy commercial dance pop. By annointing her they give themselves permission to enjoy the fluffy pop that they're ashamed of liking. But then I could be

I have nothing against the idea of disposable pop music. There's nothing wrong with light fluffy entertainment. I just don't understand the difference in how some of it is perceived relative to the rest. The Robyn hype has me completely stumped.

She's not popular? The view counts on her YouTube vidoes run into multiple millions per song. One of her songs has over 4 million views. And she gets lots of ink on "indie" sites like AVClub and Pitchfork. I just assumed these things added up to popularity. Was I wrong? Maybe I'm even more out of touch than I

Why is Robyn a star? Help me understand.
I am totally baffled by Robyn's huge popularity. Her music is so OKAY. To my ears it's just disposable commercial pop music. It's not BAD music, but it's certainly nothing special. Why is this stuff so popular? At least with Katy Perry you get nice tits and ass

I haven't heard Wormphlegm, but when I want to hear something awesomely heavy that is also primitive, repetitious, and plodding, I put on Electric Wizard. They rule. Ditto Hellhammer. "Triumph of Death" still sounds utterly barbaric almost 30 years later.

Panzer 88
I do so wanna see this. German soldiers in a Tiger tank in 1944 battling a scary monster. That might be the coolest idea I've ever heard of.

Squeezer to the Dome?
Is that the most annoying slang expression ever? I can't recall ever hearing a more irritating one, and I can't imagine enjoying a film created by somebody who actually says "squeezer to the dome" unironically.

There is an anti-barbarian cabal in Hollywood. It goes deeper than you can imagine.

And with no Mike Reno from Loverboy.

They cut the Barbarian brothers?
Shee-uh. I've been pining for a barbarian revival for two decades now. That scene could have jump-started it. I had no idea how close my dream was to fulfillment. That makes the disappointment all the bitterer.

Kenny Loggins = gateway drug to devil worship
Why do you hipsters dismiss this thesis out of hand? I'm not saying it's true, but I'm open-minded enough to admit I don't have all the answers. This movie is NOT open-minded. It is smug, elitist, and condescending.
