Finally saw this movie yesterday- it fully and totally lives up to the hype. So good. The end drags just a wee bit as it gets increasingly preposterous but still a fan-fucking-tastic movie. If there were B-movie Oscars this would sweep them.

I loved James Bond and Crime Story growing up (Duddy Kravitz not so much) but never realized Dr. No and Manny Weisbord were the same dude. Sad he's gone but whatta life…

But it's now only playing at one of the suck-ass theaters in Times Square… oh alright I'll suck it up and go see it tomorrow. I suppose the shitty theater will only make it more 70s verite, right?

Is there a way I can just see the fox bit? The rest of this movie sounds kinda lame despite my liking of the two leads. But done right the fox scene could be cool- though apparently it is not done right.

Also- how the fuck was fat Elvis playing football hard enough to break a finger? Young, skinny Elvis sure, that guy could play tackle football and set the headspace and timing on an M2 and shit, but fat Elvis?

I am afraid I am not at all hip, but now I have to see this movie. Sounds too fucking good. It also sounds like it would make a good double feature with The Battle of Algiers, or maybe even a triple bill with those two plus Coup de Torchon.
