I tried listening to this, but just couldn't make it very far. The random chuckling from the female host every time Susan Simpson finished a point was really distracting. What's up with that?

Yes, probably illogical, but at the time I was just over her and the B-52's in general. 20+ years later, I don't get why it bothered me either.

I was never looking for something to bitch about regarding R.E.M., as they are one of my favorite bands, but I still feel OOT has its weak moments, in comparison to better albums that came before and after.

Kate Pierson's voice is actually one of my reasons for getting really, really sick of Out of Time back in '91. Listening to it now, it's not so bothersome, but at the time her warble was nails on chalkboards on those tracks. And I like the B-52s.

There are some nuggets on that album, but it's also weighed down by some of their worst songs - Radio Song, Shiny Happy People, for example.
