I definitely felt the "guys come up with a whacky set of rules, ladies counter with tweaks on said rules" plot is an episode done by a weaker show when it's trying to figure out what it's trying to be early in its first season.

When I first saw Bob Odenkirk pop up in this episode, I thought, "Hey! This will make these long months without Breaking Bad seem shorter." The opposite effect happened.

Michael Bacall was on an episode of Buffy too, and he co-wrote Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World and wrote 21 Jump Street, so maybe it's a thing?

He really was the only good aspect of Zoey. Because no Zoey meant no The Captain. But also no Zoey…

Longer short answer: because NBC doesn't think advertising the show is necessary because Robert Greenblatt is an idiot.
