I didn't see the most recent HIMYM season, but the last season on Netflix ranged from disappointing to infuriating. Prior to that, however, it was good to very good.

That was definitely the most moving part of the book for me. It really struck me, and even the kind of uplifting ending of Ewing's journal didn't completely bring me out of that feeling.

I didn't think about it, but I can definitely see where you're coming from based on the preview. Strangely, I loved Cloud Atlas and I was entirely underwhelmed by the Fountain.

I feel the same way. If I just take for granted that it will not be nearly as good as the book and not worry too much about that, I think I can enjoy the movie to some extent. My only problem will be thinking of all the people in the theater who never read the book and what they missed out on.

Yeah, the book did a good job not overstating the theme. I mean, it certainly wasn't subtle or anything, but it didn't have to be. The same amount of explanation in the movie will just seem like overkill, and it looks from the preview like that's just what will happen. Also, the love story… There were interesting love
