To clarify: I don't really have a problem with Rob Schneider being fired / terminated / whatever. I think it's a pretty black / white argument in this case.

Up until recently my job had a clause stating you could be fired for speaking negatively on Facebook as you would damage the brand. They've since retracted it.

For what it's worth, he was on SNL when I first started watching it at 9 years old, and I basically thought the entire cast were the coolest people alive. And I loved the Richmeister. He was probably even one of my favorites.

This is basically a more eloquent version of what I was trying to say.

He looks like a 12 year old Harold from Harold and Maude.

Apparently it does have user-created content, which I did not realize as I don't frequent the site. But it also employs content creators and gets contributions from celebrity supporters according to wikipedia.

Right now? I kinda do.

I would be ok with the government making vaccinations mandatory to combat these idiots. But I'm not really ok with corporations firing people who are openly pissed off about these mandatory vaccinations.

Shit happens. Sometimes people make a mistake like a mom who accidentally tagged her son's preschool in a private post she made complaining about the administration. The school saw it because of the tag and the boy was expelled because I guess people aren't allowed to have negative opinions about the school.

Unless they have some sort of evidence that that person's presence is harming their company, it seems vile to me to fire that person for their beliefs, even if their beliefs are vile.

Would you really prefer to beat down people with opposing viewpoints through fear of having their life ruined? I would rather people feel free to say whatever they want online.

I didn't realize that, I assumed it was just some Twitter remark coming back to bite him.

Yeah, I stated this in another thread in another article about this same thing - that I could go with it this time around due to the conflict of interest (sort of). I'm still somewhat conflicted about it though.

I don't know….I feel like if we're allowed to fire people based on privately held beliefs, then the world is a pretty fucked up place. With social media giving people a platform to publicly announce said privately held beliefs, I feel like we're in a bit of a transitional phase and I'm unsure exactly where to draw the

I feel like using a Funny or Die sketch is beyond cheating. I don't know what the guidelines are, but I always assumed these GJI subjects were made by nobodies and posted on their tumblrs/youtubes/facebooks/etc, not made by paid professionals and distributed through a mega-site.

I started buying LPs in my late teens (late 90s) because they were actually cheaper. I could buy a Blondie or Adam Ant lp from Cheapo for $3 instead of a $10-$15 cd.

I never bought that anyone with a massive music collection could do that. In high school, I only had 200 or so CDs, but there were so many that I had picked up cheaply and/or forgot about for weeks or months and had little to no recollection buying, let alone enough steadfast memories to put them in autobiographical

While reading this, I flashed a side-eye to my record player only to see a giant CROSLEY on it.

As the swing vote (or as what we thought was the swing vote, I guess), I appreciated that Josh seemed concerned about his position in the game rather than gloating and proclaiming himself to have all the power, as the swing votes usually do.

Am I the only one who thinks they look awesome?
