Stone Throw
I just got into J Dilla, Madlib/Quasimoto (everything Madlib produced this year as far as Strong Arm Steady/Guilty Simpson, etc.) Doom, Madvillian, etc, etc.

Funhouse is one of my favorite albums of all time. I never really dug Raw Power except for a few tracks like gimmie danger and search and destroy.

I'm still kind of shocked about this thing where college kids nowadays don't have time to really listen to music unless they play it in the background from YouTube while they're doing homework. The state university I went to must have been really shitty, I got on the deans list the same semester I spent 75% of my time

Here's some: I fucking haaaated Shutter Island. Nothing against Scorsese (it looked like a great movie) I just thought the story was lame. I kept wanting to shut it off every 15 minutes, but I was convinced that it would get better. Unfortunately, the opposite was true.

why are your firsting yourself?! why are you firsting yourself?!

It may have just been the mood that I was in at the time, but i didn't laugh more than maybe one time at either HTTM or the Hangover. I think that it's a stretch to call HTTM the "worst" though. There are so many movies released in a year that it's only on here as "biggest let down", because that premise with those

Poodog- Can't you wound them with a shot or two and then finish them off with the torch? It's been a few months but I think there was a similar mountain lion challenge and that's how I did it.

I get that not everyone likes the same type of games, but I really loved RDR. It's the first Rockstar game that I got 100% in (even through all of the admittedly tedious herb picking). I'm not even that big of a fan of GTA games. I'll play GTA games, but I usually lose interest at a certain point, I think it has to

I just downloaded Pacman CE DX on Friday. I didn't think that I'd like it because I was never too big of Pac Man player growing up, but I tried the demo version out due to all of the praise I had been hearing and I have to admit, I'm a convert. It's really a lot of fun.

I mean, uh, I'm not talking candlewax on the nipples, or witchcraft or anything like that, no, no, no. Just a couple of hundred kids running around in their underwear, acting like complete animals.

chips, dips, chains, whips

Or, Bachelor Party.

Rachel Getting Married
When I first saw Rachel Getting Married all I could think about was how warm and beautiful the wedding and reception were.

agreed- I've listened to Innerspeaker and Teen Dream more times than any other album this year.

I understand what you're getting at Yoga Fire, and for the most part I agree.
Here though the paragraph at the beginning of the article asked us to comment on what albums we specifically thought were noteworthy this year. I don't feel any obligation to "keep up" with current music, and my musical tastes no more define

Christian Williams was the only one who even had them on his ballot. Side note: Christian Williams is also the one who review Innerspeaker for this site.

3
I'm not going to waste everyone's time with a complete top ten, but here are 3 that I like that aren't included in the AV Club's list:

I fall in the same category Nathan Ford, I'm not known to watch crime procedurals so it would have taken me some time to getting around to catching this. There are only so many shows that I find I can keep up with at any point in time, and between catching up on those, and movies that I want to watch, and books, video

Nice
Nice, this is much more interesting than the "what what in the butt" type of exclusive that they're normally bagging around here.

We hadn't heard from this guy in a few days soooo…is it awful of me to have hoped that he had killed himself over the weekend?
