But I even stuffed it with some plums from the buffet and half the crowd were Euros, Aussies and Brazilians!

I was just on my first (and last) cruise. Took DFW's essay with me and re-read it on board and as luck would have it we were on pretty much the exact same itinerary. Every time we were docked with a Carnival ship I had to call it 'Carnivore.'

Is that what they call them now?

I had no idea
…that people cared so deeply about Oreos and the sweetened partially hydrogenated vegetable shortening in the middles. It's powdered sugar and old-school trans fat Crisco for chrissakes, people. That's it. My guess is that none of you will be defecting to Saveur any time soon.

Unpronounceable?
Delgo - yeah that's a tough one. A real tongue-twister, unlike Synecdoche, NY which just rolls off the tongue.

This might've been said before…
"Manic Pixie Dream Girl" is Rabin's "Magic Negro." Leaving even a tiny bit of a legacy in film crit…not an everyday occurrence. Bravo.

Looks like a cat's ass to me.

I see what you did there, Jacques. There is no absence in the Real.

Yikes
This guy shows a disturbing familiarity with the works of Extreme. I really don't care to have anyone like that telling me what I should listen to. Good DAY sir!

Sexual Harassment Panda

Everybody loves us, even the prolifically washed-up.

Many turns of phrase don't work well when translated from written to oral expression, as well as oral to written.

Guess who's back?
Back again
Shady's back

I would also have killed to see Portishead at Roseland.

It was the show supporting "When I was Cruel" and it was at the Fillmore, not the Paramount. Maybe 2002. I have no memory for dates and have seen too freaking many shows.

a few of mine in no order
-Beck in 2004 (?) at Red Rocks
-Radiohead just this summer at Great Woods or whatever corporate sponsored bullshit name it is now. Least it isn't called fucking Tweeter Center anymore.
-Peter Gabriel at Pine Knob in '88-ish
-Miles Davis at Popejoy auditorium on the UNM campus in '90.
-Elvis

Crystal Gravy
You know you want it.

What are you saving? Honestly…

I've only seen the first 15 minutes of it 117x. I have no idea what happens in the rest of it. I think in the end we find out that 'Rosebud' really likes it in the ass.
