Leslie did ask April and Andy if they wanted to work for her; they turned her down, but their main reasons related to the job originally being in Chicago. Now that it's in Pawnee, it seems like they were happy to join (or, as happy as April can be to do something).
A quick google of "do cetaceans sweat" indicates that no, they don't. We'll have to wait for the metaphor to be revised to something more scientifically accurate.
