Actually, that WAS the inspiration for the Red Wedding (that and something called the Black Dinner, although it may be the same thing). I also realized just now that my great-grandfather was a McDonald who married a Campbell. What does it all mean? Maybe they're the Smith and Jones of Scotland?

Actually, he's one of the best in the business. While the Sand Snakes fight scene was crap, I thought the rest of his work on GoT this season was solid. Anyway, there's only so much a director can do with an episode this poorly written. Just one clunker after another.

I think they need an additional voice in the writer's room, and I've often found myself wishing they could bring back Jane Espenson (who co-wrote "A Golden Crown" in Season 1).

I like that this season started and ended with Nucky's actions to get ahead: starting with the most moral (returning the money in the hat) and ending with the most immoral (handing Gillian over to the Commodore.)

I watched this after seeing the re-run of the pilot episode. If not for my cousin's wedding, the McNulty/Rawls reunion would have been the highlight of my weekend.

Peter Quinn = Realistic Jack Bauer.
