Guys, what if Calvin grew up to be Trump? And Hobbes is just his hair? And the dad is a simile for Obama? Makes you think.

Thank you for verbalizing my problem with this. Calvin is a classic "trickster" character, and he actually has a lot of heart. The dead raccoon series is an example.

This made me irrationally angry. I know Calvin is an egotistical six year old, but I don't want Donald Trump associated with something that was beloved in my childhood.

Yeah, the whole idea of serialized storytelling like this is that the installments can't really be standalone. So skipping episodes isn't a good idea if you want to fully enjoy it.

It's really smug, but it's a better written, deeper kind of liberal smugness than Buzzfeed or HuffPo. I really enjoy it. It's exactly the sort of thing an ~intellectual~ liberal NYC white girl like me listens to.

People get attached to stories. Mystery is one of the most popular genres ever invented because we always look for answers. It also came out at exactly the right time. There's been a lot of discussion of miscarriage of justice and blame in general, especially with police killings.
