I hear if a woman is near a sailor on the full moon while cursed she'll later birth a moonchild. A moonchild!

Considering it's a Raymond Watts song, the guy whose one man band was Pig, it shouldn't be all that surprising. Raymond has a very perverse mind. Also the entry has it wrong, it's Raymond singing, not Sascha. And I think KMFDM showed us all how stupid they could be with XTORT's lazy, recycled lyrics.
I get what you mean about Harlan's dickishness. To me it's his anger and contempt that boils up to the surface from time to time. It sours some of his stories, but I think some would be much less without it. Repent Harlequin! Said the Ticktockman is Harlan the mischief maker, the one that loves gumming up the works.…
Ellison is a genre writer. He's written fantasy, horror, science fiction, you name it. Herbert was a long form science fiction writer, but I got these guys grouped together in my head because they all are genre writers, and each one added something unique. All save I think Westlake were friends in life. I'd kill to be…
Have you read Prey? Do so if you haven't. It's a nasty little horror story.
You know you're fried when it comes out friend.
I think I Am Legend might just be one of the best vampire stories ever written just for making it all believable. He had an answer for just about everything. Some of his short stories have not aged well at all, but most have retained that same level of impact.
It really makes me sad when great genre writers die. Even if they did live a long and fruitful life. There aren't many of his stock left. Maybe Harlan Ellison? Bradbury is dead. Bloch is dead. Frank Herbert is dead. Donald E. Westlake is dead. And so many more. Genre writers are for my money the best, and writers of…
That was by far the best gag. I cracked up hard on that one.
It is uneven, and many of the jokes do not work, I do agree with you there. However I think it is a great horror movie for being cold and perverse. It has a very dream-like feel to how unreal everything is. The humor that does work tends to be dark. The love with a zombie head is fever-dream crazy. The grim reaper…
I miss the days of low budget, dark humored undead flicks. There were so many of them, and they all tended to be a blast to watch. This one, Return of the Living Dead, Dead Alive, Evil Dead 2, Night of the Creeps, Night of the Comet, and so on. I think that's what I cannot stand about the newer undead movies. They…
I love the ending. The whole thing is a cruel existential joke.
I think you mean Shocker 2: Electric Boogaloo.
I don't know, The People Under the Stairs might contend with this one. They both have political issues being pushed, both are dark and grim, and play out like grim fairy tales. People is more tongue in cheek, whereas Serpent goes right for the gut. These are the two I like most by him. The rest I can take or leave,…
Turn it off, you ninny. Because if you let the machines do all the work it's the road to Skynet, dude.
"I'm sorry you didn't get the joke." -Pol Pot.
But the photos fad in ten years. The memories, man, the memories!
He looks really, really stoned to me.
I think he has a lifetime pass for The Land of Rape and Honey, Pailhead, 1000 Homo Djs, Lard, early RevCo, and the two albums you mention. However, he's gotten so much staler over the years . The worst part about this album's artwork and title is how lazy it is. It doesn't hold up to the sense of humor of early RevCo.
Nope, I just sit on the floor, hold my legs, and watch it like I did watching Tom and Jerry as a kid. I'll ponder it some, but I'm more interested in enjoying it while it lasts. Now to wait for next Sunday. Sigh.
