Apparently, Alley refused to appear in further STAR TREK movies because someone involved with the production made her life a living hell while filming WRATH OF KHAN. (No one agrees on who, except that it WASN'T director Nicholas Meyer, who was unaware of the problem until he asked her to return for STAR TREK 6.)

Best theme songs EVER? No, just Best Theme songs of the 1970s.

Please, don't refer to it as "the Daly show".

Not really; 1980's sitcom studio audiences were a regular stop-off point for time travellers wanting to see the celebrities of that period.
More likely, an audience member would have screamed "HE KNOWS THE SECRET!", and opened fire with his Paradox Pistol (tm).

THIS is why everyone does single-cam these days.

I always refer to this school of fabulously talented actors who do crap films as the "five-bucks-is-five-bucks" guys.
Vincent Price, bless his soul, knew that you should always at least ASK for ten.

Warner and McDowell are apparently pretty good friends in real life.

My best friend's a DJ  ( FREE PLUG, KING CABERNET!) who uses a lot of old film clips for video montages at his shows. Scenes from those old Beach Party films crop up regularly, what with all the attractive young people dancing and having Wacky Antics. The crowd loves them… but of course, they're mixed in with Russ

You know, Easy Reader is STILL technically part of the Marvel Universe. Just sayin'.

The Tapert/Rami crowd are known for strong loyalty to their casts and crews; guys like Joe Loduca have been part of the team since the original EVIL DEAD. Heck, some of them have LITERALLY become "family" (looking in your direction, Mrs. Tapert).

Or, in genre terms, J.R.R. Tolkien versus R.E. Howard.

GAME OF THRONES is like SOPRANOS- the high quality, respectable "prestige" show that all the critics like, with mainstream acceptance.
SPARTACUS is like THE SHIELD- the disreputably show on the disreputable channel with a small passionate cult that will just grow and grow as the years go on.
  It's Chateau

Actually, a lot of the original M*A*S*H* writing staff also worked on HOGAN'S HEROES.
The early seasons of M*A*S*H* are a lot more like HH than people admit; they're both full of "schtick" and "capers".
Both shows, of course, took their influence from BILKO.

Apparently, they finally ran HOGAN'S HEROES in Germany in the 1990s, and it was a big hit.
The reason for it's popularity? Pretty much everybody's grandfather served in WW II, and Germans DESPERATELY wanted to imagine them as being like lovable old Schultzie.

It's kind of an unfortunate bit, as Schumacher has extensively praised BTAS. (as opposed to Tim Burton, who's a dick, and TOTALLY deserved it when the episode OFF-BALANCE featured a Burton-lookalike being tossed into Gotham Harbour).

A couple of years ago, Tad Stones pitched a revival of THUNDARR THE BARBARIAN to CN… and was EXPLICITLY told that "Bruce Timm called dibs on that property". Gentlemen, place your bets.

Fleming had Bond popping painkillers and mixing them with booze. If he'd been writing the character in the 1970s or 80s, he would have probably worked his way through the whole pharmacy.

Nature boy Ric Flair vs. B-9 from "Lost In Space". MAKE IT HAPPEN, INTERNET!

That opening shot of PK TECH GIRL, starting with an extreme close-up of Rygel's eye, shows a hell of a lot of confidence in the craftsmanship of the puppetmakers.
Fortunately, that confidence is pretty much justified.
