I always remember the end of Swan Song, where Falk says he figured Cash was going to confess anyway, because you could hear the guilt eating at him when he sang.
It's kind of the key to Columbo; these aren't intellectual puzzles to him- he mostly goes by instinct, sort of feeling his way around the case until he

McGoohan also directed some episodes (and I believe also did some writing for the show). The show was really a good fit for him; an unabashedly populist entertainment that refused to dumb it down, because it had faith in both itself and it's audience.

Everyone's comparing it to THE RAID (which I haven't seen yet), but I was reminded of one of Dredd's fellow British sci-fi icons- Dr. Who.
Specifically, all those old episodes where they run around corridors all the time because they only have the budget for a few sets.
 PROBABLY NOT A COINCIDENCE.

You may be too familiar with the source material to appreciate it.
Sort of like how I hate every film version of Batman except the Bruce Timm cartoons.

it's better because A) it actually GOES somewhere (the three of them end up scoring with some grannies, which is a great punchline visual), ans B) Carrey does that character SOOOOO much better than Ferrel and Kattan do.

Nice try, Turtle, but you're not wriggling out of THE HAPPENING and bad remakes aplenty THAT easily.

Watched it again just a while ago. Eddie Murphy's finest hour- not just because it's a brilliant piece of satire, but because he was smart enough to know Buckwheat had burned out. (damn shame he got nagged into bringing him back when he hosted).

Personal favorite sketch: "Good Morning Dayton", where a morning talk show descends into "Lord of the Flies' style savagery.
Favorite fake commercial: "Old Glory Robot Insurance". I bet Sam Waterson smiles to himself whenever he now does the real-life equivalent.

Well, that IS the only way to distinguish individual episodes.

Be fair, Fake Wahlberg wanting to put together a project with farm animals shows more career sense than most of the things Real Wahlberg has done.

The kicker to that Paul Simon bit being that, after Simon leaves, Grodin trys it again with the real Art Garfunkle.
Telling the audience "Yeah, we could have given you a live reunion of the most beloved duo in American Pop Music history, but we decided to go for a cheap laugh instead" is, comedically speaking, BALLS
