It needs to be said again: BATMAN :THE ANIMATED SERIES was consistently better written, better acted, and more genuinely sophisticated than any of the live-action movies- and yes, that includes the overrated DARK KNIGHT.

Ah! a Rim Job!
Actually, the show started out as a sort of "Proto-ROSANNE", a suprisingly realistic look at the working class. Of course, it turned into a cartoon, but cartoons can be good satire.
I'm thinking in particular of the episode where a bored Peggy starts "cheating" on Al with a gay guy… only to have Al end up "cheating"…
I always got the impression Peg would be better in bed than Kelly.
Me too. I believe seeing him interact with Dave probably led to that SNL gig; it showed him essentially doing comedy.
none of the sequels lived up to it…but, yes, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK is A Perfect Thing (and, yes, those Steranko paintings probably told Spielberg all he needed to know)
Troll Motherfuckers!

"Donkey and PVC: Knowing about all of these couples on all of these TV shows means you actually spend all that fucking time watching all those fucking TV shows.
:"there was some resemblance between the "Cast" and "League" screenplays - but mostly over aspects of the film that did not appear in the comic book… It's arguable that the case had merit, but not against Alan Moore."
You're calling the writer of CORONET BLUE and GOD TOLD ME TO a "hack", while defending the author of CRY FOR JUSTICE?
And here's my source: http://wikibin.org/articles…
Oh, and Frank Miller hasn't written anything good in close to 15 years. Who CARES whether he gets to use Batman for this? Hasn't he pissed on the character ENOUGH already?
Antonio Rodriguez , that "guy" who sued was veteran screenwriter Larry Cohen, and most of the changes they made to LEAGUE (a comic which wasn't even finished when they started writing the script) are directly traceble to Cohen's screenplay. I don't blame him a bit for thinking he was being ripped off when in fact he…
Stuart Gordon, yes- the only guy who can remain faithful to HPL while STILL going "hey, let's modernise it AND add some kinky sex and comedy!'
I first remember him as Hal C. Banks ( That's loosely the Canadian equivalent of Jimmy Hoffa).
The guy was good even when nothing else was, and that's the best thing you can say about an actor.
Indy is somewhat more disreputable in TEMPLE, consorting with gangsters and going on about "fortune and glory".(Although he isn't a heavy drinker, like in RAIDERS).
They really kind of cleaned up the character after the second film.(Not to mention toning down the violence, which is ironic when you consider the first…
I'm pretty sure that sould be "Foster's"
Luger always fascinated me- he was both repulsive AND sympathetic. In a weird way, he reminds me of Barney Fife; on the surface, he's everything you DON'T want in a cop, but the writing and performance let you see past that.
Hellboy.
WALK HARD is hilarous, but it's the totally unexpected DEPTH of it that blew me away. It's a far better tribute to guys like Johnny Cash than WALK THE LINE was. (And perceptive- note how Dewey's "dark fuckin' period" has him NOT writing any new songs, just covers and remakes).
It's like the best SCTV sketch ever; as…
Well, at least he isn't getting sloppy seconds on THE HOBBIT.
But I was hoping he'd do that R-rated version of THE SHADOW I'd heard about- it sounded pretty badass. OZ I don't care about one way or another.
@Michael Caine- actually, back in the day, Burton apparently was pushing either Bowie or Tim Curry as the Joker, but the producers were only interested in Nicholson. (Curry DID record a voice track for B:TAS as Mr. J, but for some reason it didn't seem to work with the animation, so they eventually went with Mark…
