The massive amount of Lana-Archer together made up for the lack of screen time of everyone else. All the other character work best with one-liners or short scenes, but Lana and Archer playoff each other so well, they barely needed to be in this episode.

The Africa Queen conversation was epic.

I believe that Blackadder was forced to change format a bit after the first season, the result of which was a much better show.
