There was plenty of stuff that didn't quite work or make sense or live up to its glory days but fuck it, I cried a little anyway

I still haven't seen this movie despite loving the book (and Scorsese) but it's always funny to me to remember that Winona Ryder was cast as a woman written as a tall, athletically built blonde
Mostly during his scenes with David Wallace I was just thinking it was funny because did the guy who plays him start out with a corporate job and then become an actor? So it could maybe be in reference to that too
You're joking, BUT, just for those who have forgotten, they did clear up the Scranton Strangler thing a few episodes ago (or more than a few, idk, it was this season though)
I had been vaguely irritated by the things this show had taken from the books before, because it felt messy and haphazard and "oh, this line is cool but we don't have the context for it yet—eh, let's use it anyway!"
Brian the boom guy strikes again
Best part of "the past is the past!" was Michelle having NO IDEA what the hell he was talking about
Well, they were already using a real rape victim's case as the basis for their main plot (a teenage girl who was raped and the boys found guilty but as juveniles with light punishments, there was also a gag order which she broke by naming them via Twitter) so why not go full on ripped from the headlines I guess
Shit just got real.
Being there at Christmas doesn't mean arriving there exactly at Christmas, he's the big boss, maybe he can take two weeks
I wondered if maybe she had an abortion and it was performed by Dr. Rosen, but that seems a little too easy for this show. But maybe not! That would give Don a chance to be hypocritically offended at them going behind his back with something.
Yeah and I think a lot of that is why Don's back to being Don; she started to become her own person and have some success that didn't involve him.
Well, it's not like her husband was much better
I wish Joan had been there when those guys were assholes to Peggy to tell them she hopes they get shot in Vietnam and they're not dying for her because she never liked them.
@eric827:disqus Yes, but after Trudy first offered to drive, Pete was like "oh wait haha what am I saying of course I'll drive you" (paraphrased, but basically) and Trudy gave him a look (I don't know how much she knew before, but it seemed like that was the point where for her it was confirmed) and walked out to…
@avclub-4fe0c5d7aa43671f5ec9d876b7dddb35:disqus I was wondering the same thing ("wait where's Molly though?") but at least according to Wikipedia, she doesn't enter the picture (with her child who is not, biologically, Will's) until AFTER the stuff with Lecter, which predates the events of Red Dragon. But yeah as…
@avclub-4dd5a9430a92d35a1f18622156718406:disqus I sort of feel the same way but I also think—it kinds of works because he's benefiting now from the fact that, really, who would ever, in the universe he exists in now, expect these things from him, creepy or not? He's a little off (okay, maybe more than a little), but…
I don't know, I read an article that said they plan (should they get that far) to cover the events of Red Dragon in the fourth season. And although they've made some obvious changes, they've also stuck close to the books in a lot of ways too, between plot points and lines of dialogue.
@avclub-782066c88e9c574d6085f3ddfc7032e4:disqus Yeah and Natalie Dormer was great there, because you could see the split-second where she was thinking exactly the same thing (about Loras), but she masked it quickly and went right back to playing Joffrey.
Lanniater? I hardly knew her!
