Yeah, the only thing I would complain about in this episode was the way in which the Sally stuff was intercut with the Lane stuff. I liked Sally's scenes (what a great character and actress), but I don't like seeing them overshadowed which in this case they couldn't not be. And just the way they were edited was a

My sister (who was born the same year it debuted!) used to be able to tell which Rugrats episode it would be by the opening "it looks like [x], but it's really zoomed-in [y]" bit. At one point I had a similar talent with the unrelated-to-the-plot Law & Order openers.

I liked this since I mostly agree BUT let's not forget that CN did have the Powerpuff Girls

Sorry, I started thinking about the whole episode again and remembered almost gasping when I saw that.

@Bleedforme:disqus Hey, I'm not saying Don's not an asshole, or he hasn't gotten away with tons of shit he never deserved to (or that the contrast of his history with that of Lane, who really did try to do the right thing and only fucked up once in a way that just wouldn't go away, wasn't heartbreaking). But, is this

Shortest heartbreaking shot: Lane's Mets pennant on the wall of his office as he walked in for the last time. Such a reminder of how much he loved America and wanted to embrace it and never leave, and how unable he was to shake off his outsider status.

"Hanging around" was unintentional btw, if anyone cares, since I just re-read this and cringed

I had to like, have a contemplative cigarette alone with my thoughts after this ep, no lie. And I'm still in awe of how they kept death/suicide just in the background this whole season, hanging around being unnerving, until Lane gets called in by Don who tells him to "prepare an elegant exit."
